Diabetes Insipidus

Last week I had a rather square and opinionated old Pharmacist as my tutor. For some reason the subject of diabetes insipidus came up. I mentioned that Nicole has it and it runs right though her father's family. The Pharmacist was pretty surprised that Nicole isn't on Vasopressin. He told me to go back to my doctor and request a referral to a specialist called a endocrinologist. They treat hormone disorders which this apparently is.

So... wish me luck. I'm going to do battle with our new doctor. Hopefully this one will not try to fob me off. Her face is so dry at the moment, which is a symptom of the disease. Not nice for a little girl. Especially as shes allergic to most of the moisturizing creams we've tried.

I've even emailed her father asking for more information. I know he'll not know much, but I'm hoping he'll care enough to ask other members of his family. Theres a lot of them who have this blasted disorder. I wonder what would happen if I called his father myself >:) All hell would break lose, probably. Its an option though.
